For my PhD project I am using repeated survey data from habitat mapping programs to generate biodiversity trends for Germany. These data offer records of plant species occurrences across a wide range of habitat types and have the potential to reflect long term trends across large regions of Germany. My main focus lies on plant species trends but I am also analyzing habitat change and how it might influence species trends. I try to identify typical characteristics of loser and winner species as well as drivers of change. My work is integrated into iDiv’s sMon working group.
