Since July 2021

PhD student at German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig and Leipzig University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nico Eisenhauer. Working on the influence of mutualistic fungi and plant species richness on nutrient dynamics in the framework of two experiments: (1) NUTRITION iDiv Ecotron grassland experiment and (2) MyDiv Tree-Diversity experiment.

2020 – 2021

Research Assistant at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Department Community Ecology (Dr. Martin Schädler)

Intern at German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig; Working group: Experimental Interaction Ecology (Prof. Dr. Nico Eisenhauer)

2018 – 2020

M. Sc. Crop Science at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. Thesis at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Sciences and the Julius Kühn-Institut JKI (Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants) in Kleinmachnow, Berlin, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernd Freier and Prof. Dr. Christa Volkmar. Title: “The analysis of functional biodiversity based on the model case of the antagonist community of cereal aphids on winter wheat.”

2015 – 2018

B. Sc. Agricultural Science at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. Thesis at Institute of Agricultural and Food Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Matthias Hinz and Prof. Dr. Jan Rücknagel.

Topic: How to overcome soil fatigue on young apple trees planted on the fruit orchard at the Julius Kühn trial field in Halle.

Projects

Scientific projects

2021 – ongoing

Ecotron experiment : NUTRITION How does resource inequality affect ecosystem functioning (plant productivity and nutrient cycling) in a grassland ecosystem? (https://www.idiv.de/en/research/platforms-and-networks/idiv-ecotron/experiments/default-6a39fa2f0d.html)

2022 – 2024

MyDiv Project: Nutrient Dynamics Are mycorrhizal types mediating the uptake and storage of nutrients in foliage of trees in diverse tree stands? (https://www.idiv.de/de/research/platforms-and-networks/mydiv.html)

2023 – ongoing

MyDiv Project: Litterfall Dynamics – How are litter quantity and quality modulated in time and space by mycorrhizal types and tree diversity?

Outreach activities & Other projects

2021 – ongoing Co-coordination of Instagram account of the lab group (@eisenhauer_lab).

2021 – ongoing Co-coordination of “Translating Soil Biodiversity”. A project that aims to translate a collection of scientific articles about soil biodiversity for children and young adults into as many languages as possible and to integrate education about soil biodiversity into the school system in Germany (Original collection published in Frontiers for Young Minds “Soil Biodiversity”) (Link to translations: https://www.idiv.de/en/young-minds/languages.html)

2022 – 2023 Co-Coordination of iCode Coding Club at iDiv

2023 Long Night of Science, Leipzig

2024 Presentation of iDiv and work of lab group EIE at science festival SPIN2030 in Dresden

2024 Talk at Leipziger Buchmesse (Bookfair)
