Dr. Carsten Meyer
Research interests
I am a researcher interested in the interface between macroecology, socioeconomics and sustainability. I most frequently work on topics revolving around biodiversity change and the underlying societal drivers, and on biodiversity data limitations. I have experience from field ecology to global-scale interdisciplinary studies. I use quantitative approaches, typically working at large spatial scales and comparing across different levels of organization (e.g. taxonomic, spatial, temporal, political). As of November 2016, I am leading the Macroecology & Society lab at (iDiv), funded by the Volkswagen Foundation as a Freigeist-Fellow. Further information on myself and my research can be found on my personal website.
