sTEP - Synthesising Trait Evolution in Plants
First meeting: 18.-22.05.2015
PIs:
William Pearse;
Jeannine Cavender-Bares
iDiv member:
Jens Kattge
Project summary:
Plants possess a range of incredible adaptations to their environment, and can survive fire, ice, desiccation, flooding, insect attacks, disease, and much more. However, we have remarkably little idea how these adaptations have evolved, and so cannot predict how they may continue to evolve in the future. In this workshop we bring together botanists, evolutionary biologists, and computer scientists to understand how plant tolerances and traits have evolved through time.
