First meeting: 08.-12.04.2024
Global biodiversity appears to be changing so fast that many fear we are on the brink of mass extinction. Testing whether this is true requires understanding the normal rate and extent of biodiversity change. The fossil record offers a way to establish this, yet it is difficult to compare modern and ancient dynamics due to differences in the type and scale of observations. sTime will provide the integrative theoretical and analytical framework needed to compare ecological dynamics across temporal scales.
