Call for iDiv ‘Seed Fund’ proposals (2024-2025)

At a glance:

The iDiv 'Seed Fund' supports proposals that

  1. aim to attract additional funding from third parties with a focus on coordinated research programs, or
  2. significantly increase the visibility of iDiv.

In addition, proposals have to contribute to iDiv’s strategic missions:

  • Provide a scientific basis for the sustainable use of our planet’s biodiversity
  • Develop a new research field: ‘Integrative Biodiversity Research’


All full iDiv members are eligible to apply, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting July 20, 2023 through March 31, 2025 (conditional on the availability of funds). More details (criteria, evaluation) can be found in the PDF document below. Proposals need tp be submitted to the Scientific Networks Unit ( as a single PDF-file (please use the template provided below).

Call for Flexpool Support Fund projects 2024

The Flexpool mechanism of iDiv is designed to promote integrative activities among scientists within the iDiv consortium. The Flexpool Support Fund pursues these goals and is aimed specifically at associate members.

Submission Deadline for the Flexpool Support Fund Call 2024: 12 February 2024 (11:59, am CET)

All iDiv associate members are eligible to apply.

Through the FP Support Fund mechanism, costs eligible within the DFG funding regulations can be requested; the total costs for a given project should not exceed 7.500 EUR.

Examples  for potential funding items are:
• Student or research assistants (Hiwis)
• Workshops
• Travel costs (e.g., conferences/ workshops/ meetings with project partners/ lab visits)
• Consumables (e.g., lab expenses)
• Small equipment
• Contract of services

Proposals need to be submitted as a single PDF-file to the Scientific Networks team ( no later than 12 February 2024 (11:59, am CET).
