sEpiDiv - Towards understanding the causes and consequences of epigenetic diversity

First meeting: 02.-06.03.2015

PIs:
Katrin Heer;
Lars Opgenoorth

iDiv members:
Walter Durka
Ivo Große

Project summary:
Epigenetic diversity is a hidden component of natural biodiversity about which little is known. To better understand the ecological significance of epigenetic diversity, the field of Ecological Epigenetics has to be advanced. In sEpiDiv we will identify the most urgent questions, outline a European research agenda, and sketch out study designs for ecological epigenetics. This will result in the publication of a ‘Methodological Guide’, a bioinformatics toolkit and a set of bioinformatics pipelines on the High-Performance-Computing cluster at iDiv, and an application for a European Training Network.

Participants:
Conchita Alonso (CSIC); Claude Becker (Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology); Oliver Bossdorf (University of Tübingen); Etienne Bucher (INRA); Maria Colome Tatche (University Medical Centre Groningen and University of Groningen); Walter Durka (Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ); Jan Engelhardt (Leipzig University); Bence Gaspar (University of Tübingen); Andreas Gogol-Döring (iDiv); Ivo Grosse (Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg); Katrin Heer (University of Marburg); Ilkka Kronholm (University of Jyväskylä); Christian Lampei (University of Hohenheim); Vit Latzel (Institute of Botany); Marie Mirouze (IRD); Lars Opgenoorth (University of Marburg); Ovidiu Paun (University of Vienna); Sonja Prohaska (Leipzig University); Stefan Rensing (University of Marburg); Christina Richards (University of South Florida); Peter Stadler (Leipzig University); Emiliano Trucchi (University of Vienna); Kristian Ullrich (University of Marburg); Thomas van Gurp (NIOO-KNAW); Koen Verhoeven (Netherlands Institute of Ecology)
